Evolving Tradition: Craftsmanship that Enriches Daily Life (Venue: Hankyu Umeda Main Store)

From July 17th (Wed) to 22nd (Mon), for 6 days, at Hankyu Umeda Main Store in Osaka,
Traditional crafts and local crafts from approximately 70 production areas across Japan are gathered here.
We will be holding the event "Evolving Tradition: Craftsmanship that Enriches Daily Life."

 

This year's event, the third of its kind, will feature items that "bring coolness" to help you enjoy the height of summer,
We offer a variety of handcrafted items, including lucky charms to brighten your everyday life.
Additionally, handicrafts from the Hokuriku region, which suffered significant damage in the 2024 Noto Peninsula Earthquake, will also be on display.
We will introduce crafts from various regions of the Hokuriku area, including KUTANI Yaki (Porcelain), YAMANAKA Shikki (Lacquerware), and Kaga embroidery.

 

Furthermore, demonstrations of techniques by skilled craftsmen and hands-on workshops will also be held.

Various events are planned during the exhibition period!

Demonstration of techniques

Every day, artisans will demonstrate various crafts such as carving, weaving, and lacquer polishing. Please come and see the delicate techniques of their handiwork up close.


Trial session

We will be holding workshops where adults and children alike can try their hand at making tin accessories, decorative shogi pieces, and more. Participation is available within the event venue.
