[Traditional Crafts Month] KOUGEI EXPO IN ISHIKAWA

Every November is "Traditional Crafts Month."
November, designated as a time to rediscover the charm of traditional crafts, sees various craft-related events taking place throughout the country.
This year, the central event, "KOUGEI EXPO," will be held in Kanazawa City, Ishikawa Prefecture.
We are planning a variety of events, including sales and workshops, so that many people can enjoy handcrafted items.
The main theme of this year's competition is "The Underlying Strength of Craftsmanship and the Wings of Revival: Connecting Japanese Craftsmanship from Ishikawa to the Future."
In Ishikawa, a region that has long preserved many traditional crafts, the Noto Peninsula earthquake in January and the Noto heavy rain disaster in September caused such devastating damage that they threatened the continuation of these traditions. Not only do we send our support to the current and future artisans who are responsible for the preservation of traditional crafts in Ishikawa and throughout Japan, but we also aim to showcase the excellence of traditional crafts and the charm of traditional culture from Ishikawa to both domestic and international audiences, demonstrating a strong resilience and recovery.
