EDO Glass (Glassware)

Tokyo

EDO Glass (Glassware) is a craft that developed as an industry centered in Tokyo, thanks to the introduction of Western-style glass manufacturing techniques at the government-run factory (Shinagawa Glass Manufacturing Plant) in Shinagawa, Tokyo, in the early Meiji period. It is mainly produced using three methods: "free-blowing," "mold-blowing," and "press-molding."
