Traditional Craft: The World of KUMANO Fude (Brushes) from Hiroshima Prefecture

KUMANO Fude (Brushes) from Hiroshima Prefecture are known not only for calligraphy and Japanese painting, but also for their makeup brushes, which have recently been gaining attention.
We will introduce a variety of brushes to suit your needs.

 Brush making experience (finishing the brush)
After gluing the separated tips of the bristles, trim the ends.		 
Fee
Material and size

Small brush: 1,650 yen
Tip material: Weasel, horse, goat (approx. 5.5 mm in diameter, 24 mm in length)
Shaft: Bamboo (approx. diameter 7.5 mm, length 179 mm)

Large brush: 3,300 yen
Tip: Horse, goat, badger, rabbit (approx. 10mm in diameter, 46mm in length)
Shaft: Bamboo (approx. 10mm in diameter, 230mm in length, including the Daruma doll)

 Approximately 30 minutes

 

*No reservation required. We will accept walk-ins on the day of your visit.
*Last entry on October 9th (Thu) is 16:00.
*Recommended age: 10 years and older
*You can take it home with you on the same day.
