USHIKUBI Tsumugi (Pongee) that has been passed down for over 800 years at the foot of Mount Hakusan in Ishikawa Prefecture.
This fabric is woven using "tama-ito" (double silk thread), which is carefully spun by hand from rare "tama-mayu" cocoons containing two silkworms. The resulting thread has a beautiful sheen and drapes beautifully against the body.
